The rationale for including the TET as a minimum qualification for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher is as under:
  1. It would bring national standards and benchmark of teacher quality in the recruitment process;
  2. It would induce teacher education institutions and students from these institutions to further improve their performance standards;
  3. It would send a positive signal to all stakeholders that the Government lays special emphasis on teacher quality

CENTRAL TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST (CTET) – JULY 2013
The Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi will be conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII on 28.07.2013 (Sunday). Candidates can apply only On-line for CTET-JULY 2013 on CBSE/CTET website.

  • Online Submission of application: 15.03.2013 to 16.04.2013.
  • Last Date for Receipt of Confirmation Page with challan, if fee paid through challan
    in CBSE Office: 22.04.2013.
  • Check Application Status on Website: 15.06.2013.
  • Contact CBSE, if Application not received: 16.06.2013 to 27.06.2013.
  • Online Corrections in Particulars: 16.06.2013 to 27.06.2013.
  • Download Admit Card from the Website w.e.f.: 03.07.2013 .
  • Date of Examination: 28.07.2013.

ELIGIBILITY:
The candidates having the following minimum educational qualification are eligible for
appearing in CTET.
Minimum Educational Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Stage):
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing
in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing
in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
OR
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary
Education (by whatever name known).
Minimum Educational Qualification for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage):
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary
Education (by whatever name known).
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in
Education (B.Ed).
OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special
Education)*.
Important Notes:
? Confirmation Page received after last date of submission i.e. 22.04.2013 will not be accepted irrespective of the date of their dispatch. CBSE will not be responsible for any Postal delays/LOSS.
? Candidates can only apply On-line for CTET-JULY 2013.

? Candidates must follow instructions strictly as given in the Information Bulletin on the websites. The candidature of Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily rejected.
Application Fee  :  Rs.500/- for only paper -I or II (Rs.250/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates) OR  Rs.800/- for both papers  (Rs.400/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates)through Debit/Credit Card or download Payment Challan for payment in the designated accounts of Syndicate Bank/e-Post Office in favour of Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi.
